Store Help
Technical, et cetra.
Our store is built on secure and user-friendly software that makes buying from us as quick and easy as possible. Our primary products are musical media (such as CDs, cassettes, and vinyl records) but we are also seriously considering setting up an instrument section through which we would hope to sell less popular instruments, such as older electronic instruments varying from synthesizers to drum machines. If this is something that would interest you, the customer, please let us know.
How to use the store
Using our store is easy! Once you have entered the store through the link in the menu above or to the left (or you can click here), you will be able to browse through our stock in multiple ways to your liking: Alphabetically, categorically, by genre, by popularity, or through the featured products on the front page. You may also search our database in the search box at the top of any page in the store.
To listen to our selection of audio clips we have available in almost every CD's store profile simply click the name of any track that has a link and you will open an mp3 of a 30-second sample of that specific track. Most products have a clip for every song but there are a few who have only a few clips. What program you use to open the clip with depends on what your computer's settings are and what programs you have installed into your system. We recommend Winamp or Quicktime. And if you don’t want to download each track one at a time, most product profiles also feature a link leading to a zip file so you can download the whole batch in one click. The free program Winzip is required to open this file.
Each product also links all of its description's keywords into Antipedia, our free wiki-style encyclopedia, for the further reading of the customer. Like Wikipedia, every article in Antipedia can be read, revised, edited, and created by everyone, being a public-contributed source of knowledge. By February 1, 2007 we aim to have almost all keywords in the store leading to an Antipedia article but if you find yourself trying to read an article that isn't there, please feel free to create the article for the benefit of others, if you like. The beauty of joining Antipedia with the Antiphonic store is that it allows us to provide everyone with a little “extra reading” above and beyond what you find in just the store alone.
Signing up for membership is free (of course!) and easy. Simply click here and fill out the form as completely as you can. Areas marked with a red * are required fields in order for us to best serve you. Once you have signed up an E-Mail will be sent to you with your information and you will be able to buy products from us. Signing up for our store is limited only to the store and does not sign you up for use of other features on our site (e.g. Antipedia, forums). Those areas of the web site are also free to sign up for but are not connected to your store profile.
To buy a product in the store please follow these few easy steps.
- Read our store's terms & conditions and privacy policy.
- Add the product(s) you want to your cart
- Sign in or sign up for a free store membership
- Enter any gift certificate or coupon codes you have, if any, into the appropriate box
- Select your payment method between credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AmEx), PayPal, check, money order, or very well-hidden cash (marked as a money order). Please remember that you have the promise of honesty from Antiphonic but not from the post office and thus we cannot be held accountable for cash lost in the mail which is why we don't suggest sending any (though we do accept it since cash is as good as money)
- Process your order!
And when your order has been shipped you will receive an automated confirmation E-Mail letting you know so you know to watch your mail box.
Troubleshooting
To meet everyone's needs and standards (including our own) the store's inner workings can get a tad complicated which opens plenty of opportunities for error. If you are having problems browsing our store or proccessing your order, please try any and all of these suggestions before further action:
- Firewalls - Firewalls are our store's greatest enemy, or so it seems to us. If you are having problems using our store in any way 9 out of 10 times the problem is fixed by temporarily disabling any firewalls you are currently running. If you don't know what a firewall is, click here.
- Browser - The error may be in your Internet browser. If the problem persists after disabling your firewall please completely close out of your Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, etc.) and return to our web site to see if the problem has been cleared.
- Dialup - If you are browsing the Internet on a dialup connection then your connection is extremely slow and can result in data loss/time outs between our computers and yours. If you are on dialup and having trouble browsing our store then the problem may simply be that your computer's connections with the store are timing out before the last operation (mouse click) could be completed. If this is the problem you can solve it by finding a computer with a faster connection.
If you have tried these troublershooter suggestions please refer to our F.A.Q. section for the store by clicking here. If you are still having problems please contact us and we will help you get around the problem.
